Under the green thumb in St Dominic’s Secondary School Ballyfermot

Green Schools Awareness Week 6th of October – 10th October 2014

We would like to raise awareness and enthuse the school to embrace that green is good. We would also like to bring a bit of rurality into citylife and to start being aware of  students’ surroundings with perhaps down the road, a goal to hold a mini farmers market in the school during weekends, selling the students produce. Here in St Dominic’s Secondary School we would like to hit home how our environment can be enjoyed in many ways through knowledge and practical steps of growing or own food and maintaining our school garden.  With that in mind we are looking forward to having Peter Donegan (website) with us in school tomorrow as part of our green schools awareness week to help us kick start our vision.

Let our gardens be a canvas to the imagination, after all,  life is about using the whole box of crayons.
